Photoshop Object Model
A document object model (DOM) is an application programming interface (API), which allows you to programmatically access various components of a document (as defined for that application) through a scripting language. For additional information about Adobe object models and the scripting languages that support them, see Introduction to Scripting.

The Photoshop DOM consists of a hierarchical representation of the Photoshop application, the documents used in it, and the components of the documents. The DOM allows you to programmatically access and manipulate the document and its components. For example, through the DOM, you can create a new document, add a layer to an existing document, or change the background color of a layer. Most of the functionality available through the Photoshop user interface is available through the DOM.

A good understanding of the Photoshop DOM, and how each aspect of the DOM relates to the Photoshop application and its documents will make script writing easier.

Avoiding Hearing Damage – Permanent hearing loss may occur if the receiver, earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces are used at high volume. Set the volume to a safe level. You can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound that may sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing. If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening and have your hearing checked. The louder the volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected. Hearing experts suggest that to protect your hearing:

• Limit the amount of time you use the receiver, earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces at high volume.
• Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
• Turn the volume down if you can’t hear people speaking near you.

The Adobe® Creative Suite® 4 enterprise manual deployment options let you configure and silently install or uninstall Creative Suite 4 editions and point products at an enterprise level. Only volume licenses are accepted to configure and silently install Creative Suite 4.

Deployment and installation options are configured by modifying or creating XML files that control the setup process. Installation can then run directly from a client computer, or from Microsoft® Systems Management Server (SMS) on Windows® or Apple Remote Desktop™ (ARD) on Mac OS®.

What’s New for the Enterprise in iPhone OS 3.0 and Later
iPhone OS 3.x includes numerous enhancements, including the following items of special interest to enterprise users.

• CalDAV calendar wireless syncing is now supported.
• LDAP server support for contact look-up in mail, address book, and SMS.
• Configuration profiles can be encrypted and locked to a device so that their removal requires an administrative password.
• iPhone Configuration Utility now allows you to add and remove encrypted
  configuration profiles directly onto devices that are connected to your computer by USB.
• Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) is now supported for certificate revocation.
• On-demand certificate-based VPN connections are now supported.
• VPN proxy configuration via a configuration profile and VPN servers is supported.
• Microsoft Exchange users can invite others to meetings. Microsoft Exchange 2007 users can also view reply status.
• Exchange ActiveSync client certificate-based authentication is now supported.

VPN Setup

• iPhone integrates with most existing VPN networks, so minimal configuration should be necessary to enable iPhone access to your network. The best way to prepare for deployment is to check if iPhone supports your company’s existing VPN protocols and authentication methods.
• It’s a good idea to review the authentication path to your authentication server to make sure standards supported by iPhone are enabled within your implementation.
• If you plan to use certificate-based authentication, ensure you have your public key infrastructure configured to support device- and user-based certificates with the corresponding key distribution process. • If you want to configure URL-specific proxy settings, place a PAC file on a web server that is accessible with the basic VPN settings and ensure that it is hosted with the application/x-ns-proxy-autoconfig MIME type.
  Check with your solution providers to confirm that your software and equipment are up to date with the latest security patches and firmware.

WINDOWS UPDATES
For those of you who use the Windows Operating System by Microsoft, you will want to run the Windows Update utility on a regular basis. This tool looks at your current version of Windows and makes sure that there are no security holes in the software. You should run this tool on a weekly basis and you can set it up to run automatically. To access Windows Update, click the START button and then look under the PROGRAMS menu or Download and install Application Software patches.
