Standalone WEBppliance (LS) DNS Host Configuration Guide

Introduction
Purpose
This document describes the technical details of Domain Name System (DNS) management for a reseller using Ensim WEBppliance software. It gives a step-by-step example to shed light on this complex topic.

Overview
This document describes the technical details you should be aware of when using Ensim’s Appliance Admin control panel to manage DNS. We will assume that you have access to a freshly installed WEBppliance and have not created any sites. If you have already created sites, please contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

DNS is an unforgiving protocol. Even a small error can cause a domain to disappear for days or weeks at a time. To avoid this, you should have the DNS “bible” — the O’Reilly DNS and Bind Book: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/dns3/ — at your side. Please see the “For Further Reading” section at the end of this document for more tutorial information on DNS.

Plesk 8.3 for Linux/Unix Kaspersky Antivirus Module Administrator’s Guide

About Kaspersky Antivirus
Kaspersky Antivirus is a program that scans incoming and outgoing mail traffic on your server, and removes malicious and potentially dangerous code from e-mail messages. What makes it an effective solution is that its virus databases are updated with new virus definitions every hour.

To learn more about Kaspersky Antivirus, visit the Web site at http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-virus_linux_mailserver.

To use Kaspersky Antivirus with your Plesk server, you need to install the Kaspersky Antivirus module, purchase a license key and install it through Plesk control panel.

Installing Kaspersky Antivirus
You can install the Kaspersky Antivirus module to the Plesk server in two ways: from the control panel (recommended), and from the command line.

Acorn Network Computer User Guide

Getting started
Setting up the equipment
The Network Computer (NC) supplied to you has several input /output interfaces that may need configuring or setting up. The NC will initially require plugging into a suitably set up Ethernet Network, which should only be done by a qualified Network Administration Manager.

It will require connection to a suitable monitor, using the 15w VGA type monitor socket identified on the back panel of the NC. The unit will also need a keyboard and mouse plugged into the relevant sockets identified at the back of the NC.

Switching on
When your Network Computer is connected as described switch on the monitor and plug in the power adapter. If correctly configured your Network Computer will boot to a startup screen provided by your network server.

Don’t panic if you get the repeating message,

Looking for a boot server
Physical address is 00:00:a4:xx:xx:xx

Service Processor (GSP or MP) User’s Guide

Introduction to Service Processor Interfaces
The service processor (MP or GSP) utility hardware is an independent support system for nPartition servers. It provides a way for you to connect to a server complex and perform administration or monitoring tasks for the server hardware and its nPartitions.

The main features of the service processor include:

  • Command Menu
  • nPartition Consoles
  • Console Logs
  • Chassis Code Viewer (on HP 9000 servers with HP PA-8700 processors) or Event Log Viewer (on servers based on the HP sx1000 chipset)
  • Virtual Front Panels (live displays of nPartition and cell states)

These features are described in more detail in Service Processor (MP or GSP) Features on page 18.

The service processor is available when its cabinet has standby power, even if the main (48-volt) cabinet power switch is turned off.

Access to the service processor is restricted by user accounts. Each user account is password protected and provides a specific level of access to the server complex and service processor commands.

Becoming Familiar with Your Control Panel
This section describes the items located on your Home page and gives an overview of the operations you can perform on your mail account and services you can subscribe to. When you need to perform a specific operation, we suggest that you refer to the table of contents to quickly find the instructions you need.
You can do the following with your mail account:

  • Use it as a standard mailbox, protect it against spam and viruses, and send/receive mail through a mail client program installed on your computer (via SMTP, POP3, and IMAP protocols), and access your mail through a Web interface.
  • Use it as a mail forwarder to one or several recipients.
  • Use a vacation notice when you are away and will not be able to check your mail.
  • Use a number of automatic responses that will activate under certain conditions.
  • Use any combination of mail services, for example, have a mailbox that will keep your mail and forward the message copies to other addresses.

Now let’s take a look at your Home page.
